Gorgeous unusual an antique Japanese ukiyo ebook of the Tokaido 53 Stations by Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849). This accordion-style book contains fifty-five reprints of Hokusai's woodblock prints. The book has fabric-covered boards and fabric-covered cardboard sleeve with bone closures. We believe the book was published in the 1930s as a second Edition. The book is intact and appears to be in good condition. The sleeve and fabric covers show some wear. The pages have yellowed due to age and there are areas of foxing. Some of the pages show some wear (one has a crease at the top). The pictures on the front and back covers show discoloration from their glue backing. There is some writing in pencil on the back cover and on what we believe is the publishing information (see photo). Please see the photos for more information regarding the condition. The book in the sleeve measures approximately 9" tall, 12 1/4" wide, and 1" thick. This is a beautiful antique Japanese ukiyo ebook of the Tokaido 53 stations by Katsushika Hokusai that contains fifty-five pictures.
