Brief Biography :
Katsuji Koizumi was born in Tokyo. Japanese traditional artist. He received his first major award for his work "Saien Ugo" (Colorful Garden after the Rain) by Bunten in 1917 and the special award for "Tousei" (Sound of the Ocean Waves) by Teiten in 1931. He became a professor at his alma mater Tokyo Bijutsu Gakko (Tokyo University of the Arts). He made excellent bird-flower pictures and landscapes in fine brush strokes.
