The item for sale is an original antique Japanese color woodblock print printed in 1895.
The print come from "Fables Choisies de Florian. Illustrés par des artistes japonais sous la direction de P. Barboutau," published by Librairie Marpon & Flammarion in Paris & Shueisha in Tokio, Tokyo & Paris in Meiji 28 (1895).
The woodblocks were printed in Tokyo, by Yama-moto Yei-ji-ro [Yamamoto Yeijiro.]
The woodblocks for the work were illustrations of classical fables by Japanese artists Kubota Tosui, Kano Tomonobu and Kajita Hanko.
The sheet measures 13 1/4 X 9 1/2 inches and is in good condition aside from light age toning, a small hole in the lower right margin, tabs of white mounting tape on the top edge of the back side, and small binding holes in the left margin.
There is nothing printed on the reverse side.
