Biography
Eiichi Kotozuka was born in 1906 in Osaka (died 1979). He came to Kyoto to study at Kyoto City Specialist School of Painting, and he remained in Kyoto. Eiichi Kotozuka became close friend with Tokuriki Tomikichiro and other artists from the Kyoto circle of painters and printmakers.
With Uchida and Unsodo publishers Eiichi Kotozuka made several series of popular views in the Kyoto area and of kacho-e (birds and flower prints).
In 1948 Eiichi Kotozuka was among the founders of Koryokusha company with Tomikichiro Tokuriki, Kamei Tobei and Takahashi Tasaburo. The goal of Koryokusha was the financial support of sosaku hanga style prints with money earned by the shin hanga print activities mainly of Tokuriki Tomikichiro
Condition : Very good condition but please view scanned images as they are quite old imperfection can be expected.
