[320 plates] Six volume edition of Anne Pratt's Flowering Plants with the addition of the grasses and sedges, a classic work of Victorian natural history. Very good decorative cloth bindings, all edges gilt, rubbing to extremities; brown coated end-papers, elaborately and impressively illustrated throughout. Occasional foxing spots,especially to endpapers. A very good set of this remarkable work which owes much of its success to the illustrations engineered by William Dickes & Company who combined a lithographic key plate with successive layers of wood block color.
Some pencils marks on interior covers.
