A Catalogue of the British Lepidoptera figured in this book, arranged according to Mr. Stephens' lists of the British Museum collection, with species added in this edition inserted in their proper places, is followed by a complete list of species with Latin and English names, synonyms, and known places and dates of occurrence in Great Britain. A sound copy of a classic work on British Lepidoptera. Good condition; covers lightly bumped, edges and hinges rubbed, inside front hinge cracked but solid. Light foxing and transfer on some protective sheets, but plates themselves clean, bright, and unmarked. Owner's penciled name and small dealer's stamp on back of free front endpaper, remnants of removed sticker on blank leaf facing it. Hardcover; contemporary half leather over marbled boards, gilt titles and ornaments on spine, marbled endpapers. A New and Revised edition, with Supplement, containing figures and notices of nearly two hundred newly discovered species, synoptic lists, etc.
